NOTICE OF VACANCY ON SCHOOL BOARD
McCOOK CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 43-7

The following school board positions will become vacant due to the expiration of the present terms of office of the following school board members.

Jeremy Grady – 3-year term, anywhere in the district
Brad Schock– 3-year term, anywhere in the district
Kurt Stiefvater – 3-year term, anywhere in the district

Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on February 2, 2026, and petitions may be filed in the office of the business manager located at 200 E Essex Ave, Salem, SD 57058 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., central standard time not later than March 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., or mailed by registered mail not later than March 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

General Authority: SDCL 12-1-9(3).
Law Implemented: SDCL 9-13-1.1, 13-7-5, 13-7-6, 13-7-10.1.

The MCM girls basketball game against MVP has been rescheduled to Monday, December 29, in Mt. Vernon. The C game will start at 2:00pm.

Also, tomorrow’s basketball doubleheader against Parker/Marion will be played in Parker, not in Marion.

Just a reminder that McCook Central will have NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 26th, through Friday, November 28th, for Thanksgiving Break. Classes will resume on Monday, December 1st. Happy Thanksgiving!

The McCook Central School District will be holding a Veterans' Day Program on Tuesday, November 11th, at 9 am in the Auditorium. This event is open to the public.

The MCM Volleyball team will be playing in the SoDak 16 against Sioux Falls Christian on Tuesday, November 11th at 7:00pm at Baltic High School. Good Luck Fighting Cougars.
