Salem, S.D. – McCook Central School District wants to welcome administrators, alumni, community members, students, staff and teachers to participate in this year’s Homecoming festivities. Information provided below provides details about the weeklong District celebration.
On Sunday, September 15, 2024, homecoming events kick off with Coronation in Salem at 5 p.m. and Montrose follows at 7:30 p.m. This year’s theme for Homecoming is “Food”. Students are encouraged to participate in themed dress up days throughout the week.

Students will participate in Homecoming games Monday through Wednesday during their advisory period. On Thursday, High School students will begin float construction to prepare for the parade. On Friday, an all-school pep rally will take place in the auditorium at 10 a.m. Two separate parades will take place, Salem, starting at 12 p.m. and Montrose at 2 p.m. Kick off time for the football game is at 7 p.m. against the Flandreau Fliers. After the game a Homecoming social and dance will take place at the school, ending at 11:30 p.m. McCook Central wants everyone to have a safe and fun week.
